In addition to the translation and commentary of the Yoga Sutra, I am pleased to be able to offer you two further translations of another essential spiritual text here on my site. The Ashtavakra Gita is one of the most important texts of Advaita Vedanta and is written in the form of a dialogue between the sage Ashtavakra and King Janaka.
Bart Marshall on the Ashtavakra Gita:
”I think Ashtavakra Gita is the most instructive spiritual text ever written and should be read and re-read by any sincere seeker of Self-Realization. It gets to the heart of Truth and True Nature more directly and concisely than anything else I’ve encountered, and I concur with its last words: “No more can be said.”
The Ashtavakra Gita was originally written in Sanskrit and can therefore - like the Yoga Sutra - be translated in different ways. On this page you will find two of the best translations I have found:
The first translation is by Bart Marshall in his popular 'Bootleg Version'. I would like to thank him for allowing me to publish his version of the Ashtavakra Gita here. If you would rather buy his version as a book, you can find it under 'Ashtavakra Gita (bootleg version)' on the Internet. I would also like to mention his latest book 'The 13 Core Strategies of a Spiritual Warrior: How to Navigate the Archon Matrix and Escape the Prison of Birth and Death' if you are interested in this topic.
Here is the translation on my page: Ashtavakra Gita - Bart Marshall
The second translation is by John Henry Richards. He made it available for the public domain many years ago. Many thanks also to him in this case for allowing me to publish his translation here: Ashtavakra Gita - John Henry Richards
